Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips will be the focus of an Amazon Prime documentary set to air later this month. Producers of the 90-minute film, NEO Studios, believe the documentary will be 'an honest portrayal of a happy, talented young player, his struggles with injuries and a meteoric rise from an ordinary lad from Leeds, to become part of one of the Premier League’s most successful teams - Manchester City'.

Phillips signed for the Blues last summer for £42m after spending his entire career at Elland Road. On arrival at the Etihad Stadium, Phillips was hit with an injury which put his spot at the Qatar World Cup in doubt.

Thankfully, he recovered just in time to make Gareth Southgate's squad but featured only briefly in the Middle East. Upon his return, the Englishman struggled to move ahead of Rodri in the pecking order.

While he has dismissed speculation he will be leaving the Blues this summer, it seems unlikely the former Leeds man will be able to cement his place in the starting XI on a regular basis during the next campaign. "My main objective was to inspire people of all ages that anything you put your mind to and hard work is possible but also to be humble and enjoy every moment of whatever career path you take.
