Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips will reportedly stay at the Etihad Stadium despite claims he could leave in search of regular football.
Phillips struggled to break into the City starting XI last season after making the switch from Leeds United in the summer. An unfortunate injury sustained in the friendly against Barcelona kept the 27-year-old out of Pep Guardiola's plans until just before the Qatar World Cup.
Upon his return, Phillips missed out on a couple of games after being deemed 'overweight' by his manager but he soon regained his fitness levels.
In the meantime, Rodri was the first-choice for Guardiola and barely put a foot wrong as City claimed the Treble. It was suggested that Phillips could seek a loan move this summer to earn regular game time.
