Scots have been issued with a weather warning as parts of the country are set to be battered by winds up to 80mph. The Met Office issued the warning on Wednesday, November 8, warning that blasts up 60-70mph and up to 80mph will hit some areas.

Forecasters say this could cause serious disruption to travel plans and even power cuts. The warning covers northern parts of Scotland, including the Highlands and the Outer Hebrides, reports the Daily Mirror.A spokesperson for the Met said: "It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves".The weather warning comes only days after Storm Ciaran hit parts of the UK causing homes to be evacuated and major travel chaos. The aftermath of the storm left thousands of people in a part of Surrey without water supplies after it hit a water treatment plant.Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click 'Join Community'.We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners.
