Police investigating the Hogmanay shooting of gangland gunman Marc Webley have recovered a vehicle four miles from the scene of his death.The 38-year-old was fatally wounded after being gunned down outside the Anchor Inn on West Granton Road in Edinburgh at around 11.50pm on December 31.Investigators yesterday announced they were hunting for a red Hyundai Tucson which was used by the gunman during the 'targeted' hit - which also left a second man, 39, seriously injured.

The car, which had at least one other man inside, was then seen driving off in the direction of Leith following the shooting.

Police Scotland have now confirmed that a vehicle has been seized around four miles away in Darvel Gait, near Craigentinny Golf Course. Images from the scene shared with Edinburgh Live show an area at the back of several flats taped off as well as a police presence on the street.Officers are carrying out enquiries to determine if it is the vehicle used.

The make and model of the recovered vehicle has not been disclosed. A force spokesperson said: “Around 2.45pm on Tuesday, 2 January, 2024, officers investigating a death in the Granton area of Edinburgh recovered a car in Darvel Gait, Edinburgh. “Enquiries are ongoing to establish if this was the vehicle involved."
