More than 7,800 new homes planned across Greater Manchester are set to receive a share of a £115m fund. The 92 developments across the city-region which have been selected for a slice of the government's Brownfield Housing Fund have been revealed.
Most of the developments benefiting from the cash boost will include some 'affordable' housing with around 4,000 discounted homes planned in total.
And four in five of the selected schemes will be built to the 'Future Homes Standard', making them more eco-friendly. The funding comes from the second tranche of the three-year £150m brownfield programme announced as part of Greater Manchester's latest devolution deal signed in March 2023.
The trailblazer agreement set a target of 7,000 new homes by 2026.
