Man to appear in court over alleged knife attack on Tameside street

An man is due to appear in court over the wounding of another man in Tameside. Officers were called out to Oldham Road, in Ashton-under-Lyne, at around 1.25pm yesterday (June 28).

A 23-year-old man has now been charged in connection with the incident. Mohabatulla Oriakhil, of no fixed address, has been charged with wounding with intent.

He has also been charged with threatening a person with a bladed article and attempted robbery. Greater Manchester Police says Oriakhil is due to appear at Tameside Magistrates Court today (Thursday). A spokesperson for GMP Tameside said: "Mohabatulla Oriakhil, of NFA, has been charged with wounding with intent, threatening a person with a bladed article and attempted robbery after officers were called to Oldham Road, Ashton-under-Lyne, yesterday."
