BBC Strictly Come Dancing couple 'forced to withdraw' after being 'unable to perform'
manchestereveningnews.co.ukNigel Harman has dropped out of Strictly Come Dancing just hours before the show is set to go live alongside his partner Katya Jones, the BBC has confirmed.
The 50-year-old, who was going to perform a Charleston alongside Step In Time from Mary Poppins, has reportedly been forced to quit on medical grounds after getting hurt.
A BBC spokesperson said: “Unfortunately Nigel has sustained an injury which means he is unable to perform in tonight’s show and has had to withdraw from Strictly.” It means there will be no eliminations in this week's show, with the remaining contestants all automatically going into the next round.
Many pegged Nigel and Katya as potential winners of the competition following their impressive routine last weekend that saw the pair dance the rhumba with Celine Dion's It's All Coming Back To Me Now in the backdrop.
