Man dies after being found seriously injured on Glasgow street as mum left in 'indescribable pain'

The heartbroken mum of a man who died after being found seriously injured in Glasgow says she has been left in "indescribable pain" as she hailed her "loving and caring" son.

Siphamandla Libalele, 39, was discovered badly hurt by emergency services on Langbar Crescent in the east of the city on Tuesday, May 9.

Ambulance crews attended and Siphamandla was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious injuries, but he sadly passed away in the hospital five days later.

Officers arrested and charged a 21-year-old in connection with the death. The man appeared in Glasgow Sheriff Court on June 5 where he made no plea and was remanded in custody.

The raucous period drama “Firebrand” was the official opening-night film at the 57th annual Karlovy Vary International Film Festival on Friday night in the spa resort town outside Prague, but there was a lot more going on in and around the Grand Hall at the Hotel Thermal than just the on-screen battle between Alicia Vikander’s Catherine Parr and Jude Law’s King Henry VIII. Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine weren’t too proud to cook up their 1987 classic with copious amounts of Mad magazine-style spoofery — or Looney Tunes-level laughs, even — and yet you can feel like those seemingly empty calories are justified, knowing you’ll be gulping back salty tears by the end. “Into the Woods” is as overstuffed with characters and ideas as any musical ever has been, but if everyone does their job right, you leave feeling like you’ve just been fed a perfectly balanced meal, and not a morsel more.
