Manchester City academy graduate Tommy Doyle has admitted he “would love” to return to Sheffield United if the opportunity arises.

The midfielder played an instrumental part in helping the Blades to Premier League promotion and an FA Cup semi-final, scoring four and assisting seven in 38 outings during his season-long stay.

The 21-year-old has impressed during his stint at Bramall Lane alongside fellow Blues loanee James McAtee, both frequently earning the praise of boss Paul Heckingbottom.

Doyle formed a strong relationship with the fans during his stay and has left the door open for a return as he prepares to travel back to parent club City.
