Lucky Glasgow neighbours scoop whopping £400,000 in huge Postcode Lottery win

A lucky pair of neighbours in Glasgow scooped more than £400,000 each in a huge Postcode Lottery win. The two residents on Estate Road, in Carmyle, landed the biggest prizes in the draw after G32 8AJ was announced as the winning postcode for Saturday’s Millionaire Street prize in the People’s Postcode Lottery.It wasn't just the two that scooped £408,990 that were winners in the area, as hundreds of people in the wider postcode sector celebrated sharing the remaining prize money.

A total of 484 other players in the G32 8 region shared the remainder of the £1mil prize, landing cash ranging from £326 to £1,630, depending on how many tickets they play with.The biggest winners chose to remain anonymous but the players' windfalls mean local charities have also benefited from a cash boost.

A number of community organisations have been awarded funding by Postcode Community Trust following the win.Spinal Injuries Scotland, which provides one-to-one peer support, information, and advice service to patients in the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Unit in Glasgow and at spinal clinics in other areas in Scotland, got a £60,000 boost.Fuse Youth Café operates in east Glasgow and has a café area, gig space, annexe and internet café.

They provide a variety of services for young people, including drop-in activities and formal and informal learning sessions and received £30,000.Mount Vernon Community Hall within Mount Vernon Park in the city's east end offers a variety of activities and classes throughout the week.
