Jack Dunn CBS has given out a pilot order to the single-camera workplace comedy “DMV,” Variety has confirmed. In addition, CBS has opened a writers’ room for another single-cam titled “Eternally Yours.” Based on the short story from Katherine Heiny, “DMV” hails from writer Dana Klein, who executive produces with Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling and Robyn Meisinger.
According to a series description, “DMV” is “set at the place everyone dreads going most: the DMV. Our quirky and lovable characters are making minimum wage, doing a thankless job where customers are annoyed before they even walk in the door.
Good thing they have each other.” Klein previously created two other sitcoms for CBS entitled “9JKL” and “Freinds with Better Lives,” both of which Kaplan executive produced.
Klein was also a producer on the iconic NBC comedy “Friends” from 2001 to 2004. “Eternally Yours” is penned by “Ghosts” creators Joe Port and Joe Wiseman who executive produce with Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang.
