Livingston ace Andrew Shinnie out to replicate brother's success and lift Scottish Cup trophy

Andrew Shinnie was suited and booted and was in amongst the celebrations when Inverness Caledonian Thistle won the Scottish Cup eight years ago.He'd left the club a couple of years earlier, though, so he didn't get his hands on the trophy or pick up a winners' medal like his brother Graeme.But the ex-ICT man is determined to get that feeling before he calls it a career.

He insists that's a few years away yet but knows time is running out - and he sees no reason why Livingston can't lift the famous trophy at Hampden come the end of the season.They'll need to get the better of his old club, first, though, and the former Scotland midfielder knows that will be no easy task.He said: "I was doing punditry that day so I was suited and booted.“Obviously when you see success, anyone not just your brother, just teams enjoying a good day and lifting cups, it’s always something you look on and think, I’d love a part of that, it would be a great day.“There’s a tiny bit of jealousy in that I would love to saviour that for myself but not for him, I was delighted for him on the day.“I was in the changing room after the game, I hadn’t long left so I knew most of the boys.

I went down to the changing room to see them all, I didn’t join in with the celebrations but I was in the middle of it and just congratulated them all.“You still feel a bit attached to it and I knew the boys well and my brother was the captain.
