Follow OK! on Threads here: https://www.threads.net/@ok_mag Les Dennis has reportedly signed up for the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing, a move that has apparently left BBC bosses "thrilled".The 69-year-old, best known for Family Fortunes during the 1980s and 1990s, was asked to join the hit series during his time as Michael Rodwell on Coronation Street from 2014 to 2016.
Discussing the offer on Sunday Brunch in 2018, Les said that he wasn't allowed to take part due to an ITV soap "policy". However, he admitted: "I wouldn't mind doing it, I always like a challenge." But if recent reports are to be believed it looks like Les' Strictly dream will come true after all.
If he does join, he will compete alongside other rumoured contestants which include Love Island's Zara McDermott and Casualty's Nigel Harman.
A source told the Mail On Sunday: "The viewers are going to love Les. He is a TV icon and now he will be dancing on one of the most popular shows around. "He might be about to turn 70 but he is a showman and he will be great entertainment for those watching at home. There is genuine excitement about Les taking part." OK!
