Michael Beale's theory that Scottish Premiership strikers weren't good enough to be on his summer wishlist has been brutally shot down by Andy Walker - who claims that there were FOUR last season good enough to don the Blues shirt.Beale snubbed the likes of Kevin Nisbet and Lawrence Shankland in order to sign Danilo, Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers; all three of whom so far have failed to produce the goods at Ibrox, with Dessers only really starting to come into some form of late.

It's led pundits and Rangers fans to suggest that another striker is needed in the summer given Kemar Roofe cannot stay fit and Rangers on the whole, bar Abdallah Sima and James Tavernier, are struggling to score goals.Shankland has been linked in what would be a cross-country move to Govan, and given he's supposedly a Rangers fan, it could be a move worth completing in the future.

And Walker has blasted Beale's statement over whether the top-flight has good enough strikers by naming four from last season who would've been more than good enough to make the Gers XI.Speaking on Go Radio, the former Scottish top-flight striker said: “[Lawrence] Shankland can score goals for any team in the league, he’s proven that.

He’d get a lot more chances [at goal] for Rangers, I think Hearts would be difficult to deal with, they’d want to maximise their profit as he’s their star man and it would harm their challenge to get into Europe over the course of next season.
