At first glance, it looks like the one blot on Lawrence Shankland’s copybook. But when you take a closer look and delve a bit deeper, the picture becomes clearer.In summer 2021, the striker got his big move abroad to Belgian outfit Beerschot, who paid Dundee United a cool £1million for his services.

Having scored a glut of goals at Tannadice, and at Ayr United before that, it was Shankland’s chance to do it at a higher level.On the face of it, scoring five in 26 games might not look great on his CV, given the numbers he’s currently racking up at Hearts.
