A Lanarkshire support worker has received a warning after turning up to work "under the influence of alcohol". Elizabeth McCusker was employed by the Potential Living charity in Motherwell when she was found to be "not fit to carry out your duties safely" around a service user, known only as AA.The incident took place on October 27 last year.Ms McCusker’s actions were contrary to the drug and alcohol policy of the charity, which has provided support to individuals in Lanarkshire with a variety of support needs and disabilities for well over 40 years.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Your behaviour placed service user AA at risk of harm.“This behaviour falls below the acceptable standard of care expected of a social service worker and would amount to misconduct.”The report adds there were no previous conduct concerns in Ms McCusker’s career as a social service worker, this was an isolated incident and no actual harm was caused to the service user.It
