Lanarkshire charity volunteers brave wintry sleepout to raise vital funds

Volunteers from a Lanarkshire charity completed a tough winter sleepout to raise funds for their varied work in supporting local residents and families.A group of 21 hardy supporters of Diamonds in the Community bedded down for the night outside their Airdrie headquarters, setting up a makeshift camp of sleeping bags, cardboard boxes and even sandbags as they braved the elements.It was the group’s second annual event, with the group raising £2500 in sponsorship and donations to support the work of their Monklands baby and family clothing aid project as well as highlighting the issues of homelessness and poverty.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
