Michael Beale makes Rangers transfer promise as he considers summer spending spree over 48 hour push

Michael Beale watched his boys in blue rack up their ninth win in 10 games under him – but all he saw was a red flag warning him that Rangers aren’t yet the force that he wants them to be.

The Ibrox manager was pleased with the points in the 2-0 win over St Johnstone but is demanding much more from his players who were up against 10 men for more than an hour after Nicky Clark’s sending off.

And he admitted that his recruitment drive, headed by attempts to sign Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin and Swansea City winger Morgan Whittaker, could go right down the wire as Tuesday night’s transfer deadline approaches.

Beale said: “I was pleased with the amount of chances we created but not so much with our last pass or shot. If they go in, everyone says the performance is fantastic.
