A celebration of life service for the late husband of Lady Gabriella Windsor, Thomas Kingston, was held at St Mary Abbotts church in Kensington, West London on Saturday. The 45 year old tragically died from a "catastrophic head injury", leaving his wife, the daughter of Prince Michael of Kent, deeply bereaved.
The memorial brought together close friends and family of Mr Kingston, including a few members of the Royal family. However, both the King and Queen as well as the Prince and Princess of Wales did not attend.
Speaking on behalf of the family, a representative expressed: "Lady Gabriella and the Kingston family have been deeply touched by the outpouring of love, kindness and support they have received over the past difficult months." "They were grateful today for the chance to celebrate and give thanks for the life of a wonderful man, among so many of those who knew and loved him too." Lady Gabriella, who is related to the King through her second cousin connection, was earlier seen at Royal Ascot this week.
During the traditional carriage procession, she received a warm hug from Zara Tindall. She was pictured alongside Princess Anne in the second carriage of the royal procession, as she wore a pink floral dress and matching pastel fascinator.
