Kris Boyd reckons another defeat to Celtic on Sunday will pile pressure onto Rangers boss Michael Beale. The Ibrox manager is looking to win a first Old Firm game at his fourth attempt in the Scottish Cup semi-final showdown at Hampden.
Following two reverses and a draw which saw Celtic earn the Viaplay Cup and move to the brink of the Premiership title, Boyd says a Rangers loss will almost certainly mean a Treble for Ange Postecoglou’s men and Beale having to endure more celebrations from across the city. The former Light Blues striker says that, as well seeing Rangers finish the campaign without a trophy, it will also mass the pressure onto the manager to deliver instantly at the start of next season.
Boyd explained: “I think every manager, whatever side’s been on a run of losing to the other, especially a new manager coming into it, you do need to start picking up wins somewhere along the lines.
Let’s be realistic, there’s only one thing that matters in this game. And that’s winning.“You can dress it up any way you want, the result is the be all and end all.
