'Knifeman' arrested after person rushed to hospital following assault

A man has been rushed to hospital following a 'stabbing' on a Bolton street. Greater Manchester Police say officers were called to an assault on Cannon Street, Daubhill, at 5.30am Thursday (September 7).

A knife was reportedly used during the attack. The victim was taken to hospital. They were still receiving treatment today (Friday) following the incident, GMP said.

Witnesses are asked to come forward as soon as possible. A GMP spokesperson said: "Greater Manchester Police are investigating an assault where a knife was used that took place on Cannon Street in Bolton at around 5:30am on Thursday, September 7 2023.
