James Martin issues heartfelt statement as he takes break from show amid cancer treatment

James Martin has expressed his thanks to his fans as he announced that he will be taking a break from his weekly cooking show due to further cancer treatment.

Last week the celebrity chef, 51, shared an update with fans during a sold-out show in Liverpool, as he promised that he would be "back fighting" after dealing with "a lot of s**t with cancer." He has since taken to social media to thanks fans for their support after it was announced that he will be taking a break from his show, with Jimmy Doherty taking his place.Taking to X, formerly Twitter, James wrote: "I just wanted to take this chance to say thank you for all (and there have been thousands) of the amazing messages I’ve had over the last few weeks. "It’s been a pleasure to be on the road with an amazing bunch, appearing night after night for a fantastic group of people… all of you! "There are so many to thank Sam, Thatch, Dan, the whole crew, Richard, Seb, Ben, Cuffe & Taylor and all at Live Nation!
