Strictly Come Dancing's Angela Rippon and pro partner Kai Widdrington have hit back at critics, who claimed they have only performed "slow dances" on the competition so far.

Angela, 79, and Kai, 28, appeared on Thursday's Good Morning Britain to talk about their journey on Strictly so far. Last week, the pair received an incredible 34 points and were third on the leaderboard following their Argentine Tango.

However, host Kate Garraway was quick to ask the duo if they planned to perform a fast routine after some fans claimed they have only performed "slow dances" on the competition so far.

Kate, 56, said: "Sometimes the dances have been quite slow..." to which Angela responded: "Well, we did the Quickstep, there's a clue in the title, and we did the very first dance which was the Cha Cha Cha." Kai added: "We have something fast [this weekend], it's going to be fun and we're going to go for a bit of comedy as well." "Make no mistake, Angela is doing lots of steps to a fast Charleston and she's being very much lifted over my head more than once with another trick in there!" The duo are performing a Charleston to Murder She Wrote (TV Theme) for week six's Halloween theme.
