Jared Leto dresses up as Karl Lagerfeld’s famed cat Choupette at Met Gala 2023
nypost.comoutlandish Met costumes of years past — donned a full white, furry cat character costume, only revealing he was underneath further down the carpet.The theme of this year’s Costume Institute exhibition is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” and Leto’s costume matches the real-life Choupette’s piercing blue eyes and brown and pink nose.He eventually took the costume off and posed for more pics in a black ensemble, complete with a matching cape.
The Post has contacted reps for Leto for comment. Leto shared a sweet memory of Lagerfeld with E!.“I’m playing Karl in a film,” he reminded reporters about an upcoming biopic centered around the designer. “The first time I met him, I said to him, ‘you know, one day I’ve got to be you on film.’ That he said to me, ‘only you, my love.Only you.”Earlier Monday, Choupette told her more than 169,000 Instagram followers that she would not attend the Met as previously suspected. “A million thanks to all of you my fans, animal lovers & Daddy’s admirers.
