ok.co.ukEmmerdale viewers are convinced a messy new love triangle could soon be on the horizon after Charles Anderson’s proposal to Manpreet Sharma was hastily shot down by the bride to be during Wednesday night’s (10 April) visit to the Dales.
As regular viewers will know, earlier this week Charles’ mum Claudette Anderson unsubtly suggested that her son, the village vicar, should be married to Manpreet rather than “living in sin” in an attempt to earn the favour of the new Bishop.
Initially unreceptive to the idea, Charles caved to pressure and suggested to the Bishop that the pair did intend to get engaged in the future, much to Manpreet’s displeasure.
Shrugging it off as an offhanded comment to impress their dinner guest, Manpreet thought nothing of it - at least not until Charles plucked up the courage to pop the question on Wednesday evening.
