'I was so addicted to face fillers my lips looked like a beak and started to rot away'
manchestereveningnews.co.ukA mum who got a cheek and lip filler to celebrate her 30th birthday has been left looking 'deformed' with a 'beak' after her lips began to rot away.
Nicole McManus got the 1ml injections before her big day in June. The mum of two had been using filler and anti-wrinkle injections for ten years prior with no issues.
However, weeks after her latest trip to the cosmetician, she noticed that her cheeks began to swell. Nicole, 30, from Preston, was immediately concerned about an infection and returned to the practitioner who told her to go to hospital where she was warned that they might have to cut away part of her cheek. Desperate, Nicole found another practitioner who was horrified at the state of her face and told her that her lips had gone into necrosis - the death of body tissue or cells.
