A businessman who claimed he 'found himself in the middle' of a riot in Bolton held his head in his hands as he was locked up.
Dane Potter, who runs his own tree surgery business, was caught on camera throwing a missile towards police as large-scale disorder broke out in the town.
A demonstration had been organised in Bolton following the ‘tragic incident in Southport’ where three young girls died, following ‘misinformation' about the identity of the alleged perpetrator, Bolton Crown Court heard.
Counter protestors also descended and each side numbered about 250 people in total. Bricks and other missiles were launched at police officers trying to keep rival factions apart.
