Jeremy Kyle is set to take the stand at an inquest into the death of a guest from his eponymous TV show.Steve Dymond, 63, from Portsmouth, Hampshire, was found dead just a week after recording an episode of the Jeremy Kyle Show in May 2019, where he took a lie detector test over allegations of infidelity towards his partner, Jane Callaghan, from Gosport, Hampshire.The inquest at Winchester Coroner's Court revealed that Mr Dymond died from a morphine overdose combined with a heart condition known as left ventricular hypertrophy.Jeremy Kyle is due to provide testimony at the same court this Friday. Mr Dymond had a history of mental health issues, having been diagnosed with depressive disorder in 1995 and experiencing several overdosesthe latest being in April 2005and an attempt to harm himself in December 2002.Chris Wissun, who was ITV's director of content compliance at the time, testified that Mr Dymond's initial application to the show was turned down after he disclosed his depression diagnosis and prescription for antidepressants.A draft headline for Mr Dymond's first application on April 9 was also shared with the court: "Missing viagra and lies about being in the navy, are you a cheat? "Mr Wissun revealed that the follow-up letter from Mr Dymond's GP, which was requested to back a second application, was a "very unusual circumstance".He stated: "We were told that was very unusual, the fact that Mr Dymond, having been turned down the first time, he reapplied to the show having gained a GP letter.
