A perfectly fit and healthy mum, Lynsey Gregory chalked her tiredness down to having a new-born. Deciding to get back into her active lifestyle in January 2019, Lynsey took a tumble which ultimately led to a devastating diagnosis.
During one of her first games back at netball, the then 33-year-old from Wigan fell over. The fall itself wasn't really unusual, it's the nature of the game, but it was the bruising that followed that sparked cause for concern. “The bruising came up almost immediately on my arms and they were very dark.
The bruising was still there over a week later and it was actually my own mum who flagged with me that it should’ve disappeared by then. They ran a blood test on me and when the results came back they found that my platelet count was very low.” Doctors told Lynsey to come back another day to repeat the test to see if there was a pattern.
