Hit Bollywood Movie ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ Remade As TV Series Mansoor Khan’s hit Bollywood movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak has been remade as a TV series by BBC Studios India for Viacom 18 network Colors.
Starring Karamm Rajpal and Trupti Mishra and launching today, the Romeo and Juliet-esque show chronicles the immortal love story of Rajneesh, a city-bred medical student, and Poornima, a resilient village girl; they fall for each other and unite with an eternal promise, to stay together forever.The show draws inspiration from true events of reincarnation and is based on November Rain by Mrinal and Abhigyan Jha.
BBC Studios said the show “marks a new move for the Global Entertainment business into continuing drama internationally.” Global entertainment recently restructured under Matt Forde. “It is often said that there are very few wholly original stories, and, well, this one, Qayaamat Se Qayaamat Tak, is the mother of them all,” said producer and writer Jha.
The story was turned into a 1988 Bollywood movie helmed by Khan. UK Unscripted Climate Change Fund Launches A global unscripted TV fund of £100,000 (($126,000) for shows about climate change has been launched by UK screen industry organization Climate Spring.
