On September 8, one year will have passed since Queen Elizabeth II died aged 96. To mark the first anniversary of her death, it is believed that Prince William and Kate Middleton will lead the tributes to the late Queen.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to deliver a message to the public that will honour the life of the late monarch, however it is believed King Charles will mark the anniversary "quietly and privately" at the Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire, where she died.

There were rumours that Meghan and Harry would honour the late Queen in their own way but nothing had been confirmed. Royal commentator Anna McGovern appeared on Sky News to discuss the upcoming plans to mark the anniversary and when Caroline Di Russo asked if she thinks Harry and Meghan will pay tribute, she said: “I think that they will take any opportunity to make anything about themselves, which I think completely misses the point about what the occasion is about."Harry and Meghan will be in Europe at the time of the anniversary as they are set to attend the Invictus Games in Germany but it was rumoured that the pair weren't invited to any events to celebrate the Queen's life 12 months on.Royal expert Angela Levin, however, believes that Harry and Meghan can't be trusted to attend as they could spill the beans on any private conversation having already done so in an interview with Oprah Winfrey as well as their Netflix documentary and Harry's memoir.Speaking to GB News, Levin said: "It's a very quiet thing.

It's not a big celebration of her life."It's not going to be something where there's prayers or everything like that. It's just going to be quiet and peaceful, and family are going to pop in and then pop out.
