Oli Shaw was delighted to repay his manager's faith in him with a historic seven-minute hat-trick late on to stun Morton. The striker had gone four games without a goal before netting not only the first treble of his career, but also one of the quickest in the club's history, surpassing George McCluskey’s eight-minute effort against Clydebank in 1991.Shaw struck in 77, 81 and 84 minutes to sink Ton and help Accies leapfrog them into sixth spot in the Championship. The 26-year-old had a couple of stop-start seasons before moving to South Lanarkshire in the summer and he believes he is reaping the rewards of a regular run in the team under boss John Rankin, after becoming the league's top scorer with seven goals in 11 games.Shaw, who failed to score during spells at Motherwell and Barnsley in the last 18 months, said: "It's massive to get a run of games.

I think any striker will tell you that. When you have belief in a manager and they keep you on the park in games where you haven't scored, you want to give them something back."The manager was a big part of me joining the club, so for him to have that trust in me, I always want to give back."The fans have been brilliant with me as well.

For me to get the three goals is down to the hard work I've put in, but also for the manager giving me that stretch of games."That's my first-ever career hat-trick so I am delighted with that.

If it is the quickest hat-trick in the club's history it is another moment I will be very proud of."I felt we were the better team throughout the game.
