Halloween actor Charles Cyphers, who played Sheriff Leigh Brackett in the horror franchise, has died.He passed away at the age of 85 after a brief illness on Sunday (August 4) his manager Chris Roe confirmed to Variety.Roe added in a statement: “Charles was a lovable and sensitive man.
He always had the best stories, and you got a full performance while he told you. He was a close friend and client on many years who will be dearly missed.”Cyphers first appeared as Sheriff Brackett in the first two original films (Halloween and Halloween II) in the franchise alongside Jamie Lee Curtis before returning for the 2021 David Gordon Green reboot Halloween Kills.The star initially worked with the first film’s director John Carpenter on the 1976 action film Assault On Precinct 13, in which he played police officer Starker, before he also appeared in the director’s 1980 horror film The Fog and 1981’s Escape From New York.Nancy Kyes, who played Annie Brackett in the first two films, paid tribute to her fellow co-star.“So sorry to hear about dear Chuck.
