Good Morning Britain's Richard Madeley and Charlotte Hawkins stunned into silence amid 'breaking news'

The pair fronted the show on Monday (April 1) amid changes to the presenting line-up over the Easter holiday. It may not have passed some by that Easter Monday this year also marks April Fools Day - but it seemed to momentarily slip Richard and Charlotte's minds when they were pranked live on air.
Charlotte was seen trying on a pearl necklace that were said to have been owned by late Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe. During the segment, guest Jane, who was in charge of the seemingly historic piece of jewellery, said: "I need to ask you not to touch the pearls." Richard then joked: "It would be awful if they unthreaded." But suddenly, the necklace snapped and the pearls went flying everywhere, with Charlotte clearly panicked: "Richard!
You made that happen!" she shot at her co-star was left visibly surprised as his mouth hung open. Charlotte then said: "Can I just confirm you've got that on camera - I was not touching it at the time!" Richard then said: "I don't believe that happened..." He didn't seem convinced it was real and thought Charlotte was playing an April Fools prank on him, but she was adamant she wasn't involved.
