The owner of a dog which had to be put down to end its suffering has been sentenced for failing to seek veterinary care. Jada the French bulldog was found underweight and dragging her hind limbs when an RSPCA officer visited Jermaine Henderson’s home in August 2022.
It was discovered the dog was suffering from several chronic and severe health conditions which should have been treated by a vet.
Henderson, 29, had taken the dog to a vet appointment at the Animal Trust on March 4 after she suddenly lost the use of her back legs.
Apart from oral pain relief, the dog was then left with no medical intervention until the RSPCA visited his flat more than five months later.
