First Look At ‘Succession’s Harriet Walter As Margaret Thatcher In Channel 4’s ‘Brian & Margaret’
deadline.comChannel 4 has released a first look at Succession star Harriet Walter as Margaret Thatcher in the British broadcaster’s upcoming James Graham drama Brian and Margaret.
Deadline first revealed the two-part series in June and it will chronicle Thatcher’s last TV interview, the hugely damaging ITV grilling by her old friend Brian Walden, played by Steve Coogan.
The drama is directed by Stephen Frears and produced by Baby Cow Productions, Coogan’s production company. It is based on two chapters from the book Why Is This Lying Bastard Lying to Me?
by ex-BBC journalist Rob Burley. Walter takes on a role played by plenty down the years. Gillian Anderson won an Emmy for her portrayal in The Crown and Meryl Streep scooped an Oscar 12 years ago for The Iron Lady.
