Rapper Rich Homie Quan’s cause of death revealed
nypost.comthe rapper died from the combined effects of fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine and promethazine, according to the medical examiner’s office in Fulton County, Georgia, per TMZ.The rap star’s death has been ruled an accident.Rich Homie Quan passed away on Thursday, September 5, at 33 years old, the coroner’s office confirmed in a statement to The Post. “On Thursday, 5 September 2024, the Fulton County Medical Examiner was notified by Grady Memorial Hospital of the death of Dequantes Devontay Lamar,” the statement read.
An autopsy was scheduled for the following day, Friday, September 6.TMZ was first to break the news of his death. The rapper’s family confirmed the news of his passing to the outlet, saying they were heartbroken and shattered by his unexpected death.
Quan was at his Atlanta home when his girlfriend found him unresponsive and later foaming from his mouth, according to audio of a 911 call obtained by TMZ.Quan’s girlfriend told a 911 dispatcher that the rapper fell asleep on the couch on Wednesday night and never came to bed with her.
On Thursday morning, she found him still sleeping on the couch. The musician’s significant other left the house to take her son to school but put a blanket over Quan before she did, presuming he was still asleep.
