I didn’t see anyone hurt so it could have been a lot worse.“Hopefully the businesses around the Jade House are able to get back open as soon as possible.”A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.20am on Wednesday 12 June to reports of a fire at a commercial premises on Main Street, Cleland.“Operations Control mobilised three appliances and a height appliance to the scene where firefighters extinguished a fire affecting the ground floor of a single-storey building.“The premises beside the property were evacuated and there were no casualties.“Our crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.” *Don't miss the latest headlines from around Lanarkshire.
