Raised in Tennessee, he appeared on the television shows Star Search and The All-New Mickey Mouse Club as a child. In the late 1990s, Timberlake rose to prominence as one of the two lead vocalists and youngest member of NSYNC, which eventually became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time.

Timberlake began to adopt a more mature image as an artist with the release of his debut solo album, the R&B-focused Justified (2002), which yielded the successful singles "Cry Me a River" and "Rock Your Body", and earned his first two Grammy Awards.

American Pop sensation, Justin Timberlake, has acknowledged that "it's been a tough week" at his first gig since his arrest for alleged intoxicated driving.

The 43 year old Cry Me A River hitmaker, who recently stopped the show for assistance, was arrested in Sag Harbor, an affluent Hamptons village in New York, on Tuesday, after failing to halt at a stop sign and reportedly not staying in the correct lane.

Videos doing rounds on social media platforms present Timberlake talking about the past week during Friday night's show in Chicago.

He confessed: "It's been a tough week... I know sometimes I'm hard to love but you keep on loving me and I love you right back." In a statement shared with the PA news agency on Wednesday, Timberlake's legal representative professed eagerness towards "vigorously defending" the singer.
