Selena Marie Gomez (born July 22, 1992) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and television producer. After appearing on the children's series Barney & Friends (2002–2004), she received wider recognition for her portrayal of Alex Russo on the Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place, which aired from 2007 until 2012.

We didn’t want it to end. It was great,” Henrie told Us Weekly in an interview. “She’s so good. She has such a quick wit that’s only gotten stronger.” Henrie and Gomez are set to reprise their roles as Justin and Alex Russo, respectively, in the sequel series tentatively titled Wizards. “We have a couple scenes that I think will choke up the original fan of the original show, and they’re really touching, and they went really well.
So, I’m excited for you to see it,” Henrie teased. In the follow-up series, an adult Justin Russo (Henrie), has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada (Mimi Gianopulos), Roman (Alkaio Thiele), and Milo (Max Matenko).
When Justin’s sister Alex (Gomez) brings Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown) to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities – and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World.
