Fears have been raised over a music event this weekend after caravans were parked at the site. The vehicles appeared on Pennington Park this week, leading to concerns over the annual picnic proms.

Wigan council has assured people the event 'will go ahead as planned'. The event is due to kick off at 6pm on Saturday (September 9).

The council has issued an eviction notice to the caravans.
