Dad among three with Sara Sharif's murder after airport arrest

The father, uncle and stepmother of 10-year-old Sara Sharif have been charged with her murder.Surrey Police confirmed that the Crown Prosecution Service authorised charges against the child's father, Urfan Sharif, 41, Urfan’s partner, Beinash Batool, 29, and Urfan’s brother, Faisal Malik, 28.

All three, of Hammond Road, Woking, have also been charged with causing or allowing the death of a child. The trio flew out to Pakistan the day before officers discovered Sara’s body in Woking on August 10.

A subsequent post-mortem examination discovered that the youngster suffered “multiple and extensive injuries” over a “sustained and extended” period of time, reports the Daily Mirror.The trio were arrested on Wednesday, September 13, at Gatwick Airport as they disembarked a flight from Dubai.

They have now been remanded in custody and will appear at Guildford Magistrates Court today, September 15.Sara’s mother has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.Surrey Police said they were working this week to bring home Sara's five siblings, aged between one and 13, from Pakistan.A Pakistan court ruled the kids would have to be temporarily moved to a government childcare facility.The force worked with Surrey County Council and international partners throughout the process.Sara's grandfather Muhammad Sharif said he had been sheltering the children at his home but it remains unclear where they will be sent.
