With tickets going on sale for Eurovision next week, thousands of people across Greater Manchester will already be plotting on how to get Liverpool and where to stay when the event comes to the North West for the first time ever in May.
When it was announced that Liverpool had won the bid in October 2022, Mayor Steve Rotherham called out hotels over price hikes and a number of two-person rooms are priced up between £1,000 and £1,868 for the date of the grand final - Saturday May 13.
All of those hotels are drastically cheaper the week after. A night at the most expensive two-person single-night hotel room that we found in Liverpool, on price comparison site Trivago, costs £1,299 more on May 13 than it does on May 20.
However there are some much cheaper options available, despite differing levels of price rises being extremely common across the board.
