Rebecca Wilcox, the daughter of renowned journalist Esther Rantzen, was comforted by Good Morning Britain presenter Robert Rinder after making an emotional appeal on the ITV news show this morning (July 19).

Rebecca, whose mother is terminally ill with lung cancer, appeared on the programme to urge Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to change the law in favour of assisted dying.

She confessed that she "can't talk about it" without becoming emotional and tearfully clutched a sofa cushion towards the end of the interview.

As the segment concluded, GMB presenters Robert and Charlotte Hawkins offered their guest a comforting hug. READ MORE: READ MORE: Rebecca's appearance follows her mother Esther's decision to join the assisted dying clinic Dignitas in Switzerland after her diagnosis in 2023.
