An EncroChat drug dealer who played a key role in supplying cocaine and cannabis across the north west made a fortune - while his girlfriend bough designer gear with the profits.

Alan Roberts, 39, was a significant player, operating between February 2019 and June 2021 under the handle 'Velvetroyalgb'. He bought, sold and transported drugs and raked in between £75,000 and £100,000 in dirty money, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Roberts' girlfriend Lauren Dineley, 34, reaped the benefits of his offending. She got a £18,000 Golf car in May 2020. The following month, she bought an £87,500 three-bedroom house with a deposit of £21,875.
