Voters in West Lancashire, have had their say in the 2023 local elections. Every council seat will be up for grabs after a boundary review was completed last year.

West Lancashire Borough Council is made up of 45 seats across 15 wards. Three councillors will be elected in each of the following 14 wards: Aughton & Holborn, Burscough Bridge & Rufford, Burscough Town, North Meols & Hesketh Bank, Old Skelmersdale, Ormskirk East, Ormskirk West, Rural North East, Rural West, Skelmersdale North, Skelmersdale South, Tanhouse & Skelmersdale Town Centre, Tarleton Village and Up Holland. The election is due to be rescheduled within 35 working days of the initial date set. Ahead of this year's election, West Lancashire Borough Council was under no overall control, with Labour having the most seats.

Local elections took place for more than 200 local authorities across the UK. Mayoral elections are also taking place in Bedford, Leicester, Mansfield and Middlesborough.
