The Magpies could look to sign a new 'keeper in the January transfer window, with Nick Pope sidelined through a serious shoulder injury he picked up in the weekend win over United.
Howe will rely on former United loanee Martin Dubravka to replace Pope for the next few games, while Loris Karius and Mark Gillespie will provide further back-up.
