Payments to help people with additional care needs, such as the Personal Independence Payment and Disability Living Allowance, are set to increase in size from April, the Department for Work and Pensions has confirmed.

People receiving these benefits, which also include the Attendance Allowance to pay for carers, will see their payments increase by 6.7 per cent as the cost of living crisis continues to see the price of common goods steadily go up.

These new benefit payments will come into effect from April, BirminghamLive reports. This increase will affect separate components of the disability benefit, with the DWP has saying that the daily living component of the benefit will see its enhanced rate increase to £108.55, up from £101.75, while the standard rate will increase to £72.75, up from £68.10.

The mobility component is also being boosted, with the enhanced rate number to £75.75, up from £71, and the standard rate going from £28.70, up from £26.90. Try MEN Premium now for FREE...
