Dumfriesshire couple holding eight-hour music fundraiser for The Brain Tumour Charity
dailyrecord.co.ukA Dumfriesshire couple are again staging an eight-hour music fundraiser, Jam4Sam, in a Lockerbie pub to help The Brain Tumour Charity.Lynzie Dorrance, and her partner, Craig Glendinning, who owns the Royal Bar in Lockerbie, will host the musical extravaganza on March 25.The event, in memory of Lynzie’s five-year-old cousin Sam Dorrance who died of a brain tumour in 2016, will further boost the Super Sam Fund which has raised more than £180,000 for The Brain Tumour Charity over the years.Young Sam lived in Gretna where his mum, Tanya Turnbull, originates from, before the family moved to Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire.He died 18 months after being diagnosed with a brain tumour and since then family and friends in Dumfriesshire have been doing a variety of fundraising events in his memory.Rocking it at The Royal this time with the live music charity event will be eight different acts taking to the stage between 1pm and 9pm.The full line-up and running order has been confirmed as – 1pm Mark It Zero; 2pm Shaunie Craig; 3pm Super Moody Tuesday; 4pm Ben Nash Music; 5pm Pedro and the Pirates; 6pm The Green; 7pm Under Neon; and 8pm The Cherry PinksAnyone who wants to support it is asked to call in and buy a wristband which is priced at £5.In addition, Craig and Lynzie are delighted with Annan Travel, Skinsation Wee Salon in Lockerbie and Jaybees Nursery in Lochmaben which has each paid £100 to sponsor the stage.Now they are looking for businesses or individuals to sponsor each of the acts.Anyone interested should contact them.
