A rare job opportunity on Scotland's most remote inhabited island has come up, and it sounds perfect for those looking to get away from it all.Fair Isle, which is situated around 24 miles from Mainland Shetland, is currently seeking a deckhand.
The job is being advertised by the National Trust for Scotland, which currently owns Fair Isle.The island, which has a population of just 60, has historically been known as a fishing and crofting community.
It is believed to have been inhabited for as long as 6,000 years, and was even owned by Norway in the 14th century. The successful applicant will work as a deckhand on local ferry MV Good Shepherd, meaning the position would be ideally suited to those who like the sea.
